Congratulations to Steve Dennis our May Member of the Month.
Steve has been a proud member of Key to Life for five incredible years and what a journey it has been. His commitment to building a strong, fit and healthy body throughout retirement has been nothing short of inspiring. Week after week, Steve shows up for his three PT sessions with Rohan, tackling strength work, boxing and cardio drills with determination and a smile.
His consistency has transformed his energy, his health and the way he moves through life. Steve brings a positive attitude to every session and shows that anything is possible when you’re willing to put in the work.
Congratulations, Steve, on five outstanding years with us at KTL — and on being our May Member of the Month. You’re a superstar, a role model for what dedication looks like, and an absolute pleasure to train. Keep punching mate
Over to you Steve:
1. What motivated you to start your health and fitness journey with Key to Life?
Back in 2021 having recently retired from paid work I realised I needed to look after my health if I was going to be able to do all the things I wanted to do in retirement and “live my best life”. I chose Key to Life as its smaller than the regular gyms and provides great and focused support.
2. What is it that keeps you attending your Key To Life session or sessions on a regular basis?
In a word “Rohan”. He is a great trainer, always positive, always keeps me going, always making sure I am doing the exercises correctly. I also love the fact that I am fitter and stronger than I have been for a long time and well placed to enjoy a long and healthy retirement.
3. What is your favourite Key to Life Training session or favourite exercise and why?
I like them all (I do a boxing session, a strength session and mixed boxing/weights session). I do like it when I set a new PB on weights, likely nothing of an earth shattering standard but each time we up the weight and I manage it I feel great. I also like the ski erg machine in a perverse way, its hard work but again pushing hard on it and achieve it great results is uplifting
4. If you use any Key To Life recipes, what is your favourite?
I’ve not specifically used any but I have taken on board the general philosophy of healthy eating to compliment the exercise.
5. What is your biggest accomplishment you have achieved during your time with us at Key to Life?
At the top level it's making 5 years - I was always a bit of a slacker when it comes to exercise, started and stopped gym attendance a number of times before I joined Key to Life. The small size and great support from the trainers has me coming back week after week. I also look around and see that I am in better shape than many of those in my age bracket which bodes well for the future.
6. What advice would you give somebody just starting at Key to Life?
The first few weeks/months can be tough as your body and muscles build up but stick it out and you will see and feel the benefits.
